The poster session aims at showcasing “work-in-progress”. This is an opportunity to present and discuss current work in an informal setting during the MobileHC09. Topics of interest are the same as research topics in the MobileHCI Call for Participation.

Poster submissions include a two-page abstract in the ACM MobileHCI09 Proceedings format, laying out your research problem, contribution, and value to MobileHCI09 attendees, and a first draft of your actual poster, as you plan to show it during the conference.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed under supervision of the MobileHCI Poster Session Committee. Note that both content and visual presentation will be considered in the review process. Authors of long or short papers may not submit a poster of the work in these papers.

For your poster you should prepare the best material (visually appealing and succinct) that effectively communicates your research problem, techniques, results, and what is novel and important about your work. Please review the UIST 2005 Poster Example Gallery for examples of good poster design. The recommended format is DIN A0 (84cm x 119cm / 33” x 47”), in portrait orientation.

Participants are expected to bring the accepted posters to the conference site with them. Posters will be presented during the entire conference as of September 16-18th, 2009.

Your abstract should be submitted by Friday, May 8th, 2009 to the Conference Review System alongside a draft of your actual poster. The files must be in PDF format and no larger than 30 megabytes in total.

Confidentiality of submissions is maintained during the review process. All rejected submissions will be kept confidential in perpetuity. All submitted materials for accepted submissions will be kept confidential until the start of the conference.

Accepted Poster abstracts will be distributed in the supplementary conference proceedings on CD-ROM. They will also be placed in the ACM Digital Library, where they will remain accessible to thousands of researchers and practitioners worldwide. Submission of the final camera-ready version includes and is not complete without giving us permission to distribute your final camera-ready version as described above. This permission is given during submitting the final version of your work via the Conference Review System.
